Mr Manoj Sood
Clinic Director & Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon
Manoj is the Clinic Director and a renowned hip and knee specialist who deals with all hip and knee issues as well as sports injuries. He has been actively practising joint preservation techniques since he started in Specialist Consultant Practice in 2004.
He treats all lower limb sports injuries and tendon pain, particularly tendinopathies. He is a firm believer in preserving native joints (joint preservation) by reconstructing joint damage using cartilage regeneration techniques and using various biological therapies. Joint preservation is not always indicated or advisable and he is an expert hip and knee joint replacement surgeon when arthritis is too advanced for joint preservation. He offers all joint replacement options and his data from the National Joint Registry shows that he has excellent patient outcomes and a very low risk of complications.
He also has considerable expertise in knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction and cartilage regeneration procedures.
He is proud to have been awarded both the Top Doctors Certificate of Excellence for his patient ratings in 2020 and 2022 and the iWantGreatCare Certificate of Excellence in 2021 and 2022 for delivering outstanding care.
Mr Sood has excellent communication skills and provides his patients with jargon-free explanations of their problems. He assesses his patients very carefully and organises specialist scans when needed to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. He only works with a very select specialist radiologists to ensure high-quality scan interpretation. His extensive experience allows him to diagnose and treat rarer conditions, and he is often sought out to provide second opinions.
Mr Sood graduated from Guys Hospital in 1992 and went on to train at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), where he became a clinical lecturer in the Professorial Unit. In 2004, he received additional specialist training in hip and knee surgery at two Centres of Excellence in North America: The Mayo Clinic and Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was mentored by two of the world’s best hip and knee specialists.
